Baseball Recap: Redlands East Valley's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Redlands East Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the La Quinta Blackhawks, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Redlands East Valley got a great performance from Caleb Jamroz as he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Jamroz a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Ty Whittle was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.
