Baseball Recap: Life Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Life Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 9-6 to the Kenston Forest Kavaliers. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Kavaliers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Life Christian Academy got a good showing from JJ Jimenez, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jimenez is becoming a predictor of the Eagles' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Life Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Brandon Dorin, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Whitney, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Life Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Kenston Forest, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Life Christian Academy will welcome Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Kenston Forest, they will square off against Tidewater Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Kavaliers are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
