Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Ellsworth's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Ellsworth won the last time they faced Presque Isle and things went their way on Saturday too. The Ellsworth Eagles came out on top against the Presque Isle Wildcats by a score of 61-48. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Wildcats are ranked 28th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ellsworth has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Presque Isle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Ellsworth will host John Bapst Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Presque Isle, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bucksport at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
