Basketball Game Preview: Marcos de Niza Padres vs. St. Mary's Knights

Marcos de Niza got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Arcadia by a score of 80-73 on Friday.

Marcos de Niza's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Steward, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 boards. Steward's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Dana, who posted 25 points.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's lost 61-39 to Rolling Hills Prep on Friday. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Marcos de Niza has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for St. Mary's, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
