Basketball Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for Sycamore

Sycamore won the last time they faced Belvidere and things went their way on Monday too. The Sycamore Spartans walked away with a 57-46 win over the Belvidere Bucs. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while the Bucs are ranked 526th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sycamore's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Belvidere, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Coming up, Sycamore will head out on the road to take on Ottawa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sycamore is facing Ottawa at the right time seeing as Ottawa is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Belvidere, they will welcome Belvidere North at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
