Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mayville). They blew past the Akron-Fairgrove Vikings, posting a 66-6 victory. With the Wildcats ahead 52-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Mayville had a senior duo take command as Luka Campbell picked up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Brady Hoag rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown. Campbell is becoming a predictor of Mayville's success: when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns the team is 4-2 (and 0-3 when he doesn't).
Mayville's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5. As for Akron-Fairgrove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
