Football Recap: Greater Atlanta Christian Piles Up the Points Against Johnson + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greater Atlanta Christian). They breezed past the Johnson Knights to the tune of 63-7 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Knights are ranked 451st).

Michael Miller had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 175 yards and two TDs on only 12 passes, while also punching in a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Pierce Wilson was another key player, rushing for 86 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Greater Atlanta Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 202 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards in four consecutive matches.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Adrian Hughes, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Greater Atlanta Christian's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-1. As for Johnson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Greater Atlanta Christian will challenge rival Dawson County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 891 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Johnson is set to square off against their familiar foe Chestatee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
