Baseball Recap: Watertown Extends Winning Streak to Four

Watertown got themselves on the board against Waunakee on Thursday, but Waunakee never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 7-0 victory. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Goslings this season.

Brady Lessner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Calvin Hurtgen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base was his first of the season.

The win (which was Watertown's fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Waunakee, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
