Football Recap: Dunlap Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Dunlap won the last time they faced Metamora and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles came out on top against the Redbirds by a score of 30-23. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Redbirds on their field since September 28, 2019.

Several Redbirds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaiduan Cranford, who rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown. Cranford's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 119 rushing yards.

Dunlap's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.2 points over those games. As for Metamora, they moved to 7-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Dunlap and Metamora are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Eagles will take on Pekin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Metamora, they will face off against South Shore International at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
