Basketball Recap: Miller County Comes Up Short

Miller County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 65-53 to the Cairo Syrupmakers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 61-58 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.

Miller County's record now sits at 3-11. As for Cairo, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-13.

Miller County and Cairo could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Miller County (ranked 417th) will meet Early County (ranked 188th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cairo will take on Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 258 places (402 vs. 144).
