Basketball Game Preview: South Mecklenburg Sabres vs. New Hanover Wildcats

The South Mecklenburg Sabres just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the New Hanover Wildcats at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, South Mecklenburg put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 83-63 margin over Lake Worth. The Sabres not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 18th (when they won 76-39).

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led New Hanover over Garner in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Wildcats blew the Trojans out of the water with a 79-51 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-21.

New Hanover's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.3 points. As for South Mecklenburg, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
