Basketball Recap: Waverly Starts Season with Victory Against Fisher Catholic

Waverly took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They secured a 60-54 W over the Fisher Catholic Irish.

Waverly's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kage Alexander led the charge by shooting 43% from the field en route to 23 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Kaiser Keesee was another key player, going 6-for-10 on his way to 17 points.

Looking ahead, Waverly will host Gallia Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fisher Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-45 win against Millersport on the 29th.
