Basketball Game Preview: Ponte Vedra Sharks vs. Beachside Barracudas + Official Tickets

For the first time this season, Ponte Vedra will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will face off against the Beachside Barracudas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponte Vedra has given up an average of 52.4 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Ponte Vedra easily dispatched Bartram Trail on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Sharks fell just short of Nease by a score of 69-66 on Friday. Sharks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Panthers since Friday.

Ponte Vedra might have lost, but man, Maddox Palmer was a machine: he shot 47% from the field on his way to 40 points and six boards. Palmer's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Montague, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Beachside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Bartram Trail with a sharp 64-44 win on Friday. The Barracudas not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since January 16th (when they won 53-32).

Beachside's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Ponte Vedra, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Ponte Vedra beat Beachside 69-62 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Do the Sharks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Barracudas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
