Volleyball Recap: Rock Port's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Rock Port waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the North Nodaway Mustangs. The Blue Jays have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Rock Port never let North Nodaway on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-5, 25-22.

Ella Meyerkorth paced Rock Port's offense, picking up seven kills. Meyerkorth got some help from Stevie Gaines and her 11 assists. Braylyn Wood controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Rock Port's victory bumped their record up to 13-2-1. As for North Nodaway, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Rock Port didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against North Platte on the 20th. As for North Nodaway, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against South Harrison at 7:30 p.m.
