Soccer Game Preview: Uintah vs. Orem

For the first time this season, Uintah will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will challenge the Orem Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Uintah needed a bit of extra time to put away Maeser Prep Academy. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions, sneaking past 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Uintah were the better team in the second half.

They hit Maeser Prep Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Christian Candelas, Jair Perry, and Parker Smith.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Orem took on West Jordan on Thursday. Orem put the hurt on West Jordan with a sharp 6-1 win. The match marked Orem's most dominant victory of the season so far.

Uintah now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Orem, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Uintah couldn't quite get it done against Orem when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can Uintah avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
