Section 11 Division III recap October 22, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Deer Park, who took down 386th ranked Amityville Memorial, 24-0.
Fans got a thrill when Nick Fountis and Chris Augustin connected against Eastport-South Manor. The longest such play in Section 11 Division III this season, the connection resulted in 62 yards.
Fountis put up the best numbers through the air as Bellport fell to the Sharks. He finished with 8 completions for 174 yards and 1 touchdown. Fountis' favorite target this week was Augustin, who caught 2 passes for 80 yards.
The Clippers' Fountis and Andrew Trent have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Fountis has thrown for 859 yards this season, while Trent has 20 catches for 409 yards. Comsewogue's Ade Nelson leads the league in rushing yards with 870.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Islip takes on the Falcons. At the moment, the Buccaneers are in second, while Deer Park is in sixth.
The Falcons moved up to 383 from 453 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 11 Division III. Deer Park was able to move up by defeating the Warriors 24-0.
