Basketball Recap: Lakewood Tigers vs. Bear Creek Bears
Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 63-53 to the Bear Creek Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 54-32 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.
Lakewood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quentin Wilson, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Marcus Bane, who went 5 for 10 en route to 16 points.
Even though they lost, Lakewood was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Bear Creek, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 6-11.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Ralston Valley the next time they take the court. Bear Creek will head out to face Ralston Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lakewood will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
