Volleyball Recap: Dobbs Ferry Falls Short of Putnam Valley in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dobbs Ferry can now relate to. They fell just short of the Putnam Valley Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Natasha Mansfield, who had 23 kills, 14 digs, three aces, and one block. Mansfield has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Demitrovic, who had eight kills, five digs, and four aces.

Dobbs Ferry's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Putnam Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

As of now, neither Dobbs Ferry nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
