Football Game Preview: Florida State University High School Seminoles vs. Edison Red Raiders

The Florida State University High School Seminoles will challenge the Edison Red Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Florida State University High School sitting on eight straight wins and Edison on six.

Florida State University High School is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Bradford a 14-0 shutout.

Edison's win came from a few key players Florida State University High School will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Rakyia Louis, who threw for 214 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of her passes. She is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for four or more in each of the last six games she's played. A healthy portion of Louis' aerial production (86 yards to be exact) went to Malayisa David, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

One reason for the win was Edison's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Briana Bogan and Jennifer Burton, who each picked up two sacks apiece. Edison got some further help from Burton: she picked up two sacks and made seven total tackles.

Edison's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 0.0 points on average over those games. As for Florida State University High School, their record now sits at 15-3.
