Softball Game Preview: Mosley Dolphins vs. Bozeman Bucks

The Mosley Dolphins will head out to square off against the Bozeman Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mosley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Mosley will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Bay on Thursday. Mosley was the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over Bay. The win continues a trend for the Dolphins in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won eight in a row.

Hayden Higgins and Jacey Nelson did most of the damage at the plate: Higgins scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Nelson scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Nelson also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Emma Adams was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bozeman, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Choctawhatchee on Friday, sneaking past 5-4.

Nya Bautista spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Presley Thomason was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison John, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

Bozeman pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 6.7 runs. As for Mosley, their record now sits at 3-5.

Mosley suffered a grim 12-4 defeat to Bozeman in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Mosley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
