Volleyball Recap: Nikiski Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Nikiski walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Monroe Catholic Rams on Thursday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 1-0 win back in October.

Nikiski was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-16, 24-26, 25-19, 16-14.

Nikiski pushed their record up to 40-12-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Monroe Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-10-2.

Looking ahead, Nikiski will take on Kenai Central at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Monroe Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
