Basketball Recap: Mount St. Joseph Comes Up Short

If Mount St. Joseph was feeling good fresh off their 72-49 takedown of Loyola Blakefield last Sunday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mount St. Joseph Gaels fell 64-51 to the St. Frances Academy Panthers on Monday. The Gaels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Mount St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for St. Frances Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

Mount St. Joseph will face off against Archbishop Spalding at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Frances Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against John Carroll at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in St. Frances Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
