Basketball Recap: Polk County Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Polk County won the last time they faced Sequoyah, and Zanten Branham did his part to make sure it happened again. The Polk County Wildcats skirted past the Sequoyah Chiefs 56-54 thanks in part to Branham, who went 12 of 23 en route to 31 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Colby Lawson was another key player, putting up four points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Polk County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8. As for Sequoyah, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Polk County has already played their next matchup, a 76-60 loss against Tellico Plains on the 28th. Sequoyah has also already played their next contest (against Soddy Daisy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
