The Langston Hughes Panthers entered their tilt with the Decatur Bulldogs with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Langston Hughes managed a 70-65 victory over Decatur on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Brentis Schaeffer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jaron LeMelle was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Langston Hughes' win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Decatur, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Langston Hughes will head out on the road to face off against New Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in New Manchester's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Decatur, they will be playing at home against Tucker at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tucker has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
