Football Game Preview: Cathedral Prep Ramblers vs. General McLane Lancers + How To Watch

Cathedral Prep is a perfect 4-0 against General McLane since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Ramblers will challenge the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Cathedral Prep has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while General McLane will come in with seven straight wins.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-23, which was the final score in Cathedral Prep's tilt against Benedictine on Friday.

Cathedral Prep might have lost, but man, DaZarie Carson was a machine: he rushed for 189 yards and three scores. Carson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 104 rushing yards.

General McLane hadn't beaten Meadville on the road since September 7, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Lancers blew past the Bulldogs 49-20. Considering the Lancers have won seven matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cathedral Prep now has a losing record of 3-4. As for General McLane, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Cathedral Prep was able to grind out a solid win over General McLane when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 39-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ramblers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
