Basketball Recap: Omaha Westside Warriors vs. Varsity Opponent

After flying high against Bellevue East on Thursday, Omaha Westside came back down to earth. The Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 46-45 to Varsity Opponent. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Varsity Opponent 16-4 in the first quarter.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elise Pederson, who went 5-for-7 on her way to 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gueryn Kay, who posted eight points.
