Basketball Recap: Omaha Westside Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bellevue East on Thursday, Omaha Westside came back down to earth. The Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 46-45 to Varsity Opponent. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Varsity Opponent 16-4 in the first quarter.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elise Pederson, who went 5-for-7 on her way to 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gueryn Kay, who posted eight points.

Omaha Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Omaha Westside will take on Lincoln East at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Varsity Opponent has already played their next contest (against Central Pointe Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
