Masconomet Regional has gone a perfect 5-0 against Saugus recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Chieftains will face off against the Sachems at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Saugus will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Masconomet Regional extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Chieftains were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Beverly.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Masconomet Regional took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-15, 25-15.

If Winthrop wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Saugus, they should've done a better job of containing Maria Silva. The Sachems put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday thanks in part to Silva, who had 14 digs and six aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-20, 25-13.

Masconomet Regional better focus on containing Aiyana Cruz and Aly Mabee as the pair were huge in Saugus' win. Cruz had five kills and three digs, while Mabee had three digs. What's more, Mabee posted four kills, the most she's had since back in September.

Saugus' win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Masconomet Regional, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Masconomet Regional took their win against Saugus in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
