Volleyball Game Preview: Salida Spartans vs. Del Norte Tigers

The Salida Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Del Norte Tigers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Salida is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Gunnison just ended the team's six-match winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Cowboys by a score of 2-1. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cowboys 25-21 in the first set.

Salida started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-12, 15-5.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Del Norte duked it out with McClave on Thursday. The Tigers came up short against the Cardinals, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-8, 25-15.

Del Norte's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Salida, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
