Basketball Recap: Porter Ridge Falls to Forest Hills in First Game of Season

Porter Ridge had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 59-55 to the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 82-58 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Jah'Marion Mingo, who went 7-for-8 to rack up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Melton, who posted ten points and three steals.

Forest Hills has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Porter Ridge will take on Providence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forest Hills, they will square off against Carmel Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
