Football Recap: West Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jamarr Price and Solomon Harris + How To Watch

West and Chowchilla squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but West had to settle for second. They came up short against the Tribe, falling 43-22. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tribe 8-0 in the first quarter.

West's loss came despite strong showings from Solomon Harris and Jamarr Price. Harris rushed for 162 yards and one TD while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, while Price gained 143 total yards. Harris' passing game has become a key predictor of the Vikings' success: the team is 6-2 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

Chowchilla's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tristan Beardsley, who rushed for 100 yards and four scores on only 13 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Beardsley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Fuentes, who rushed for 109 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

West's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Chowchilla, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chowchilla, they will head out to challenge Woodlake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tribe will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.
