Basketball Recap: Fairwinds Christian Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Fairwinds Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Aquinas Academy Crusaders on Tuesday, falling 41-19. The Knights were down 30-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Matt Diaz was Fairwinds Christian's leading scorer, having posted 12 points. Diaz also led the team in rebounds with five.

The win got Aquinas Academy back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Fairwinds Christian will host Chestertown Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Knights their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Aquinas Academy, they will head out to challenge Calvary Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
