Baseball Recap: Pullman Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Pullman came out on top against East Valley on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Greyhounds blew past the Knights 12-1. Considering the Greyhounds have won five games by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Will Denney and Braden Barnett did most of the damage at the plate: Denney went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Barnett got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Grant Lovinger, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Pullman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Valley only posted an OBP of .200.

Pullman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for East Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pullman will challenge North Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Valley, they will square off against Clarkston at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bantams have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
