Volleyball Recap: Ruskin Gets the Win

Ruskin won the last time they faced Raytown South and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Golden Eagles came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Ruskin had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-17.

Liam Pena paced Ruskin's offense, picking up 11 kills. Pena got some help from Alberto Medina Mate and his 30 assists. Pena was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Ruskin's victory bumped their record up to 17-10-4. As for Raytown South, their loss dropped their record down to 5-17.

Ruskin has already played their next contest (against Grandview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Raytown South, they will take on Belton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
