Football Game Preview: Ferndale Wildcats vs. St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs + How To Watch

The Ferndale Wildcats will take on the St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Ferndale sitting on 12 straight wins and St. Vincent de Paul on four.

Ferndale is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They really took it to Salesian College Preparatory for the full four quarters, racking up a 35-7 victory. Fans of the Wildcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Ferndale had a senior duo take command as Prescott Langer gained 92 total yards and Tanner Pidgeon rushed for 43 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, St. Vincent de Paul won against Analy last Saturday with 42 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Mustangs beat Maria Carrillo by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 42-28. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Pumas are ranked 368th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ferndale better keep an eye on Gabe Casanovas. He was instrumental in St. Vincent de Paul's win, rushing for 116 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 122 yards on eight of 12 attempts. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Casanovas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Levi Kennedy, who rushed for 121 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

Ferndale's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for St. Vincent de Paul, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
