Basketball Recap: Southern Valley Takes a Loss

Southern Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Dundy County-Stratton Tigers 80-49. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-20.

It was another big night for Lane Bybee, who almost dropped a double-double with 38 points and nine boards for Dundy County-Stratton. Bybee continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Ethan Latta was another key player, going 8-for-12 en route to 18 points and seven assists.

Southern Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Dundy County-Stratton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5.

Coming up, Southern Valley will take on Axtell at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Dundy County-Stratton has already played their next matchup (against St. Patrick's), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
