Crystal Springs Uplands and Castilleja are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2021, but not for long. The Gryphons will head out on the road to take on the Gators at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Crystal Springs Uplands came up short against Menlo School on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Gryphons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17, 25-8.

Meanwhile, Castilleja got the win against Priory on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

Castilleja's got stronger as the match went on, holding Priory to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 25-13.

Castilleja's win came from a few key players Crystal Springs Uplands will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Rubi Ochoa, who had 14 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelie Bellemans, who had 15 digs and one block.

Castilleja has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Crystal Springs Uplands, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Crystal Springs Uplands skirted past Castilleja 3-2 in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gryphons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
