Football Recap: Lampasas Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lampasas can now relate to. They were dealt a 42-7 defeat at the hands of the West Plains Wolves on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Badgers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Wolves are ranked 35th).

Leading West Plains to victory were REID MACON and SLADE RUSSELL. MACON rushed for 156 yards and one TD on only ten carries, while RUSSELL rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Those 156 rushing yards gave MACON a new career-high.

Lampasas' loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for West Plains, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Lampasas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Plains, they are taking a road trip to challenge Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 963 yards in their previous games.
