Volleyball Recap: Northwest Vikings vs. Adams Central Patriots
Northwest posted their closest win since September 16th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Adams Central Patriots. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (109-103) Northwest actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Halle Rice went supernova, getting 22 digs and seven assists. Those 22 digs gave her a new career-high. Elli Payne also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Adams Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abigail Paradies, who had 14 digs and two aces. Brynn Smith was another key player, getting 24 assists and four digs.
Northwest has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Adams Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.
Looking ahead, Northwest will head out to face off against Lexington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Adams Central, they will welcome York on Tuesday.
