Basketball Recap: Nicholas County Takes a Loss

Nicholas County was the 70-50 winner over Braxton County when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Nicholas County Grizzlies took a hard 69-54 fall against the Braxton County Eagles on Monday. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Defeat or not, Nicholas County got some senior leadership from Isaiah Miner and Ira Mylott. Miner en route to 13 points and six boards, while Mylott dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Miner is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Spencer Keiper, who posted five points and seven boards.

Nicholas County's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Braxton County, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Nicholas County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-45 victory against Oak Hill on the 25th. As for Braxton County, they will square off against Scott at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Scott will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Braxton County surely won't give up without a fight.
