Basketball Game Preview: Atkins Camels vs. Forsyth Country Day Furies + Official Tickets

The Atkins Camels will face off against the Forsyth Country Day Furies at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Forsyth Country Day took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Atkins, who comes in off a win.

Atkins is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Walkertown 58-27.

Atkins' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Amanda Worrell, who dropped a double-double with 35 points and 13 boards, and Kassidy Via, who shot 80% from the field to rack up 17 points and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Worrell has scored at least a third of the Camels' points.

Atkins was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Forsyth Country Day came up short against West Forsyth on Wednesday and fell 46-33. The contest marked the Furies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Atkins will have to contain Gigi Lyons as she made an impact in Forsyth Country Day's last game. She posted 16 points. Lyons' big performance that afternoon made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Kelly, who scored seven points.

This is the second loss in a row for Forsyth Country Day and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Atkins, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
