Baseball Game Preview: Port Allegany Gators vs. Northern Potter Panthers

Port Allegany is a perfect 8-0 against Northern Potter since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Gators will square off against the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Port Allegany will be strutting in after a victory while Northern Potter will be coming in after a defeat.

Port Allegany proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Kane 9-8.

The team relied heavily on Kellen Veilleux, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Bliss, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Northern Potter came up short against Otto-Eldred on Friday, falling 12-6. The Panthers have struggled against the Terrors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Port Allegany's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Northern Potter, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went Port Allegany's way against Northern Potter in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Port Allegany made off with a 7-0 victory. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
