Football Recap: Valley Christian Comes Up Short

Valley Christian had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it nine. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saint Francis Lancers. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 24-14 to the Lancers when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Saint Francis, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.0 points over those games.

Saint Francis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Drew Cumby out in front who threw for 137 yards and two TDs on only nine passes. Max Haberlach was in the mix as well, providing the Lancers with one touchdown.

Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saint Francis, they will head out to challenge Los Gatos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
