Winfield waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Lincoln County Panthers 16-1. The game marked the Generals' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Jake Kimble made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Kimble was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Winfield let Blake Withrow and Preston Keiffer run wild. Withrow scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Keiffer went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that Keiffer hit this season. Another player making a difference was Brayson Downey, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Winfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Winfield's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln County, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Winfield will look to defend their home field on Friday against Logan at 7:00 p.m. As for Lincoln County, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lincoln County Panthers take on Hannan Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. They are facing Hannan at the right time seeing as Hannan is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
