Basketball Recap: Penn Extends Winning Streak to Three

Penn had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They took down the Chesterton Trojans 56-37. With that win, the Kingsmen brought their scoring average up to 50.2 points per game.

Penn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Peyton Miamba, who posted 21 points. Those 21 points gave Miamba a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Coolman, who earned 14 points.

Penn was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Penn's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Chesterton, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-3.

Penn will be taking part in a tournament against Zionsville at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Chesterton, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Evansville Bosse at 11:15 a.m. on January 2, 2025.
