Volleyball Recap: Heartland Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Heartland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Veritas Christian Eagles.

Heartland took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 15-25, 24-26, 25-11, 15-11.

Savannah Vazquez paced Heartland's offense, picking up five kills. Vazquez got some help from Sarah Archibald and her six assists. Archibald was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Heartland's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Veritas Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Heartland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Christian Learning Center on the 18th. Veritas Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
