Monroe extended their winning streak to 12 on Wednesday, bumping them up to 12-0. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vaughn White Tigers, sneaking past 2-0. The two-run effort marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Monroe's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Felipe Gonzalez III, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Vaughn, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Monroe: they've now lost eight in a row.

On Vaughn's side, they handed starting duties to Bryant Gamez, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

Monroe didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against Fulton on the 26th. Hopefully Vaughn paid attention to the Vikings' matchup: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Vikings at 3:00 p.m. on April 8.
