Basketball Recap: Westside Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Six

Westside Christian Academy extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Calvin Cottenden. The Westside Christian Academy Eagles blew past the Reimer Road Baptist Christian Golden Eagles 48-22 on Thursday thanks in part to Cottenden, who went 11 of 21 en route to 28 points and seven rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Zach Zhakunets was another key player, putting up no points along with nine boards and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Westside Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Reimer Road Baptist Christian, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-7.
