Tupelo extended their winning streak to nine on Saturday, bumping them up to 17-10. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Hernando Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Wave have posted since August 30th.

Kennedi Simmons paced Tupelo's offense, picking up nine kills. Simmons got some help from Reese Barbles and her 12 assists. Kinslee Carter and Cat Long kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

As for Hernando, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 20-9-4 New Albany (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.8% over those games).

When it comes to explaining why Hernando lost, don't look at Camille Baird. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs and one assist. Baird is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Tupelo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against New Albany on the 13th. As for Hernando, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against DeSoto Central on the 16th.
