Baseball Recap: Lake Weir Takes a Loss

The Lake Weir Hurricanes came up short against the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave on Thursday, falling 12-3.

Andrew Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Samuel Garcia also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lake Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for P.K. Yonge, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Weir will venture away from home to face off against The Villages Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Villages Charter will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lake Weir surely won't give up without a fight. As for P.K. Yonge, they will head out on the road to square off against Ocala Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
