With a playoff win on the line, Lyons rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the SkyView Academy Hawks. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-19.

Lyons found their leader in freshman Greta Gadbaw, who had six aces.

Lyons was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive contests.

Lyons' win bumped their record up to 22-2. As for SkyView Academy, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 14-10.

Coincidentally, Lyons and SkyView Academy will both be playing Yuma the next time they take the court. The Hawks will head out to face the Outlaws at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 6:30 p.m.
